Lakeland Central School District is located at 1086 Main Street Shrub Oak, NY serving grades K-12 in Westchester County. There is the Board of Education sub-committee, Elementary, Middle School and High School sub-committees, annual review procedures and re-evaluation sub-committee, and a sub-committee to address the information on the IEP data-base system. These sub-committees address issues unique to each building or specific areas affecting special education programs. The work of these committees is discussed at each SEPTA monthly meeting where parents have an opportunity to offer ideas or suggestions.

The Lakeland Central School District is the largest suburban district in the county. Its borders push into Putnam County, and then swing south almost to Peekskill. District students live in six different towns: Yorktown, Cortlandt, and Somers in Westchester County; Carmel, Philipstown, and Putnam Valley in Putnam County. A District Committee on Special Education meets to discuss and problem solve issues that affect programs for students with disabilities. The membership of the Committee includes teachers and administrators from every building and program in the Lakeland School District.
