About

Southwestern Senior High School is located at 600 Hunt Road West East Jamestown, NY. This school provides educational opportunities for students in grades 9th through 12th and its part of the Southwestern Central School District at Jamestown. Staff and Teacher at Southwestern Senior High School believe that all students are capable of learning, regardless of their abilities, race, color, national origin or creed, and works to make sure this responsibility is met. Other goals and philosophies include teaching students to empower themselves to be able to handle challenges in their lives and make them valuable citizens in a democratic society.

Teachers are helping all students learn by integrating technology into their classes and focusing on teaching concepts, problem-solving, and real world application. A solid core curriculum is being taught that is meaningful, innovative, and abides by the New York State learning standards. The curriculum coordinator works closely with administration, grade levels, and departments to ensure that curriculum is continually being reviewed, evaluated, and adjusted to meet the needs of students. Additionally, staff analyzes state and local test results as a means of changing curriculum and instruction.
