Siwanoy School is preparing students to become lifelong learners who are equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing technological and global community. Students feel that learning is fun at Siwanoy, and that their teachers and parents believe they can do well and be successful. While they only slightly agree that students at the school are friendly, that they have academic choice and freedom, and that they are challenged by the work their teachers give them, the students feel that their teachers care about them. This student perception is critical for learning since research has pointed to caring teachers as the most critical piece that must be in place for students to learn.

Within this setting, the Siwanoy community provides the tools to promote the intellectual, social, emotional, physical and aesthetic development of our children. These tools will enable them to become creative and critical thinkers capable of making ethical choices and solving problems both independently and collaboratively. Educators enjoy teaching, they love seeing their results with students, they believe that student achievement can increase through effective parent involvement and differentiating instruction, addressing students’ learning styles, and in maintaining close personal relationships between students and teachers. They believe that all children can learn.
