About

School 13 administrators and staff are decisively devoted to the emotional, academic and social development of each individual child. The purpose of this school is to nurture each student's unique potential, enabling them to become life long learners. Literacy is at the heart of all programs and activities emphasizing written and spoken language, mathematics and the arts in a literature-based format across all areas of the curriculum. Students attending will become aware of their responsibilities in a larger global community and will be academically prepared for a successful future.

School 13 teachers work to awaken student’s intellectual curiosity through experiential learning; focusing on the skills needed to gather, analyze, and communicate information. The children are actively involved in extensive, hands on projects requiring the use of state of the art technology; enabling them to become productive citizens of an ever changing global society. Research-based best practices are used in reading, the writing process, mathematics, science and social studies. Reading, writing and mathematics are taught in extended blocks of time to practice and apply skills.

Through School 13 computer Technologies, Foreign Language Programs, Cultural Awareness Programs, Business-Schools Partnership, Targeted Instruction and Prescriptive Diagnostic Learning Strategies, students will become aware of their responsibilities in a larger global community and will be academically prepared for a successful future.
