P.S. 56 Lewis H. Latimer School staff hopes are to model professionalism and a love of learning, engage in professional development focused on improving instructional practices, and actively connect with parents and value diversity. Students will develop the skills necessary to be competent, caring, and responsible members of society. Students will display strong moral character, high self-esteem and the self motivation necessary to achieve high levels of academic success with the ability to meet the challenges of the future. In addition, this mission is best accomplished through the celebration of achievement in all areas of childhood development. School professionals know the importance of early education. They work as a team to be to ensure that every child reaches their full learning potential and academic success in all areas. Lewis H. Latimer School continues to reach out to parents, provide workshops that will help them familiarize themselves with the curriculum and involve them in the learning process.
