Nostrand School creates a supportive learning environment with real world experiences and extracurricular activities that promote the development of the school community with Club Hours devoted to Karate, Sports, Art, Chorus, Peer Tutoring and Technology.

There are also programs that encourage respect, equality and caring such as the Resolving Conflict Creatively Program (RCCP), Alternative SPINS, Drug Awareness Resistance Education (DARE) and Project ARTS, besides the Beacon Program consisting of after-school programs for community and children alike.
