P.S. 192 teachers have received extensive training in balanced literacy instruction. Their approach to literacy includes instruction in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Teachers have also been provided extensive training in differentiated instruction to meet each student’s individual needs. Student’s behavior, work habits and attitudes are reinforced with parental cooperation and involvement will be fostered through open communication while achieving and complying with district initiatives. It is expected that using teachers as facilitators, all members of the learning community including parents, teachers, and students will set clear expectations which will empower students to reach their full potential.
