P.S. 175 Henry H. Garnet School uses a teaching strategy base on fundamental building blocks, designed to help them become independent and mature. These blocks support good personal traits like; gaining independence, becoming problem solvers, being good members of a community, and studying and learning in groups or by themselves. Reading is fundamental and students attending this elementary school with the common goal that all young students are able to read by the end of the third grade. They recognize reading is a key factor to future success for all young pupils to help them increase vocabulary and attention spans. The staff of educators is made up of an outstanding group of individual teachers that are dedicated to providing an educational experience. Parents are encouraged to become active involved partners in the school to help and provide support to for their children’s educational success. Therefore staff, teachers, and parents along with the community work side by side to ensure students are meeting all academic requirements to prepare them for taking an active role as upstanding citizens.
