P.S. 161 the Crown School has a great team atmosphere within the school, which includes all staff members. This is also portrayed in our relationships with all parents. They all work together to look at what is best for all students. This is also reflected in the programs that are offered such as our Inclusion Model, Early Intervention Program, Intermediate Academic Intervention Program, Challenge Program, Pride Program, Spanish Curriculum, and Operation Success Program. These programs are designed to support and enrich students’ academic progress. Also, offered are technological opportunities that support the curriculum with the use of the wireless I Book lab and Smart boards. The Teachers are committed to creating a nurturing, interactive, learner-centered environment which meets with needs of their diverse student body. An understanding of development provides a necessary foundation for assessing, supporting, and challenging children’s growth, intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and aesthetic.
