P.S. 161 Pedro Albizu Campos School targets a positive learning environment, challenging each individual to cultivate the highest traits which are distinctly human: reason, creativity, curiosity, and compassion. Technology is integrated throughout all areas of the curriculum which is a critical component of an engaged learning environment. Their curriculum documents provide the space for a tie between technology use and existing classroom instruction, but there is a need to ensure that all students are provided equal opportunity to use technology as a tool for learning. The P.S. 161 Pedro Albizu Campos School community is very active working with all children to provide a foundation for students to reach their maximum potential. Through comprehensive, exact standards to opportunities to allow children to be independent thinkers, problem solvers, and responsible citizens.
