P.S. 159 Isaac Pitkin School has a strong base of concerned parents that are actively involved with the PTA and the teachers and other staff at this school. Teachers know all students develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially at different paces. This public school is committed to the success of each child in a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment. The faculty and staff provide a challenging curriculum, a warm and supportive learning environment, and many enriching experiences for all of the students. Many unique and rewarding field trips in all grade levels enhance what students learn in the classroom. P.S. 159 School officials believe that Learning seems to come in spurts and be followed by periods of strengthening through practice. Children's growth and development follow reasonably predictable patterns; however, parents should not compare one child with any other child, be it a sibling, friend, or relative.
