P.S. 124 Silas B. Dutcher School teachers use a variety of strategies to enhance academic achievement, address the diverse needs of students, and maintain a favorable learning environment that provides each student an opportunity to apply that knowledge. The teachers work toward developing students to acquire critical thinking and problem solving skills, communicated through literacy, fine arts, mathematics, technology and the sciences, they seek to be responsive to changes in the family, community and the world. Working in a partnership, the students, staff, parents, and community commit themselves to developing the academic, emotional, physical and social well being of all children. The school community is very active working with all children to provide a foundation for students to reach their maximum potential through comprehensive, exact standards to opportunities to allow children to be independent thinkers, problem solvers, and responsible citizens.
