P.S. 123 Mahalia Jackson School curriculum is focused on the development of literacy that includes reading, writing, speaking, listening, and technology. Classrooms are alive with activity that promotes these academic skills while embedding the content areas of Science and Socials Studies. Math is taught very explicitly to encourage skill and strategy development. Shakespeare School students receive a challenging education in an environment that recognizes the individual differences and needs of each child. Music, Art, and Physical Education programs sustain the idea of educating the whole child. Through character education we develop the skills necessary for social development and good citizenship.
