Through an on going set of courses guided by the state board, all district schools encourage excellence and achievement in students, participating in active hands-on learning activities. Additionally, all children are challenged to use their unique higher order thinking abilities and skills.

Lyme Central School makes every attempt is made to incorporate literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts. The school works alongside staff, parents, and students to achieve greater success in all fields of study while providing a friendly atmosphere for students to learn. Parents, administration, teachers, and the community will work side by side to provide the best atmosphere for learning and great expectations. Lyme Central School wants all students to recognize their full potential and will be steered in the right direction for the development of responsibility, mutual respect, and self-esteem.

Lyme Central School believes in working with the whole child and strives to make the transition from childhood to adolescence a positive time of the student’s development that will allow all students to achieve to the best of their abilities. When students at Poland Junior-Senior High School advance to the high school level, they have positive self-esteem, self-respect, and self-confidence.

Lyme Central School works alongside families to provide students with the tools and resources in all academic fields as well as social knowledge, skills, and attitudes to succeed in the middle-level grades, high school and beyond.
