James Wilson Young Middle School works with the whole child and strives to make the transition from childhood to adolescence a positive time of the student’s development that will allow all students to achieve to the best of their abilities in every direction. The school centers on the development of the whole child by instilling in students a sense of positive self-esteem, self-respect, and self-confidence, and a belief that every student can succeed. James Wilson Young Middle School together with families strive to provide students with the tools and resources in all academic fields as well as social knowledge, skills, and attitudes to succeed in the middle-level grades, high school and beyond.

Besides educational tools James Wilson Young Middle School offers several clubs and programs to cater to the whole child including Computer Art Club, Ecology Club, Literary Magazine, and Drama Club to name a few.
