I.S. 187 teaching mission is felt throughout the community with the belief that all students can learn and the school stands firm they will graduate students who exemplify responsibility, posses positive self-esteem, have value for citizenship, and a life long interest in learning. The above-mentioned qualities while give students the tools they need to become contributing members of society. The staff knows that learning has changed with the rapid advancement of technology, so they know education today will requires significantly different knowledge and skills than previous generations. Students must be educated to know how to learn, solve problems, and make decisions in fast changing environment.
