Gorton High School provides students with a wide array of studies that include; Computer Sciences Academy, Law and Public Service Academy, Medical Professions Academy, Horticulture, Electronics, and Building Maintenance Academy, Philosophy and students take advantage of smaller learning communities. Computer sciences program includes multimedia and software development, preparing students for careers in computer applications, graphics and website development and design.

Medical Profession studies are abundant with career exploration in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, public health, and hospital administration. Hands-on experiences in medical arts, microbiology, anatomy and physiology Internships, mentorship’s, and practicum’s in fields of interest
College classes through the College of Mt. St. Vincent, Mercy College, Lehman College and Westchester Community College, as well as the Tech Prep program Certificate programs in certified nurse aide, emergency medical technician and pharmacy technician.

Gorton High School teams of 120 students taught by core area teachers using interdisciplinary instruction and flexible scheduling comfortable adjustment for high school students. The school encourages creativity and initiative, which will enable students to become actively engaged in their own learning while challenging them to become responsible for their success.
