Curtis High School

About

Curtis High School is located at 105 Hamilton Avenue Staten Island, NY and serves grades 9-12. Curtis High School is a comprehensive academic school, which consists of 10 small learning communities those they call houses. The strength and success of our school can be attributed in large part to these learning communities. Each house has unique electives that students take each term beginning in the freshman year. All students pursue rigorous academic curricula that prepare them to be competitive in the college application process.

Extracurricular activities and community service are significant assets in the total development of our students. Our success lies in a daily commitment by all of our members to fulfill our mission statement. The school Strives to incorporate modern technological advancements in instruction as well as administration of the school to make financial resources available to maintain and improve buildings and grounds. Effective uses of learning technologies are applied to allow students to become self-directed, self-motivated, and lifelong learners. Teachers increasingly will be facilitators of student learning through proficient use of learning technologies.

"Curtis High School will be a nurturing community where all of its members will have the desire and opportunity to Achieve Their Fullest Potential." This mission remains as true today as it was when parents, staff and students created the statement over ten years ago! We are committed to meeting the needs of all learners who come through our doors. Simply stated, "Curtis Cares".
