Colonial School implements a Standards Based Report Card in an attempt to better inform the understanding of student progress and improve the home-school connection. The staff continues to strengthen the curriculum. Technology will be a priority with the addition of 2 new Smart boards and 4 Elmos document cameras that are similar to an overhead projector from the district and an additional Starboard donated by the PTA and Colonial family. Colonial School has eleven out of their present seventeen classrooms outfitted with Smart boards.

The new Math Investigations Program will expand to grade three with pilot units in grade four. The entire Pelham Math Program will undergo a review by the Tri-State Consortium, as they did with their English Language Arts curriculum. Teachers will continue to map English Language Arts focusing on their reading curriculum. The K-12 Writing Guide finalized last year and continue to be a resource for their already excellent program.
