Arthur S. May Elementary School is located at 25 Raymond Avenue Poughkeepsie, NY. This school is part of the Arlington Central School District and the Board of Education is the official policy-making body for this school. The school attends to the educational needs for grades K through 5 and adheres to the belief that all students develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially at different paces. This public school is committed to the success of each child in a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

This school has an 83 year history of strong academic achievement in a diverse setting. Our motto is simple; "raise the bar and a child will grasp it". There are several wonderful clubs for students and Chess Club is currently available to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students with future plans to include the K-2nd students.

Arthur S. May School is using (PBIS) Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports which is a systems approach to preventing and responding to school and classroom discipline problems. PBIS develops school-wide systems that support staff to teach and promote positive behavior in all students. By reducing behavioral problems, PBIS creates and maintains safe learning environments where teachers can teach and students can learn.
