West Babylon Schools

West Babylon Union Free School District intends that all students become lifelong learners who take pride in their work and in their service to others. The district requires all students to participate in their Summer Reading Program. All grades 1-12 are required to read two books over the summer. Junior and Senior’s must also complete two assessements based upon their reading when they return to school in September. The goals of the art department are based on both the NY State standards and the objectives of the district. Students will explore various media, topics, themes and metaphors. Studies of artists and creative accomplishments throughout history will enable students to reflect on, interpret, and evaluate works of art. The English Department is a dedicated group of individuals who put forth a great deal of effort to ensure that students are sufficiently prepared for the challenging New York State Language Arts Assessments. They employ a variety of teaching techniques and reading strategies to foster the achievement of all students.
