Maplewood Common School District provides education for the community of Watervliet. It has only one school within its borders and education is offered to students in grades K-8. The school has grown and expanded to meet the shifting requirements of its students and the community. Today, Maplewood School is a K-8 school that has developed a reputation for quality in education. Maplewood School has one of the most well-known Russian language programs in New York State and students in grades 1-8 receive Russian instruction.

The role of technology in the Maplewood Common School District is to support the curriculum and provide students, staff, and administration with the tools and training necessary for effective communication and participation in a technologically advanced society. The district will be networked internally, with the local community, and with the world. Students will develop the skills needed to use technology well and the discrimination to use it wisely.
