Hewlett-Woodmere Schools

Hewlett-Woodmere Union Free School District Board of Education is the governing body for all five of the Schools. The school system endeavors to provide students access to the most advanced technological equipment available. In each school interactive whiteboards are being used that allow teachers and students to become fully immersed in the lesson by providing an interactive and engaging experience for learners. Interactive whiteboards can play videos, expand photographs and maps, and zoom in on details and much, much more, all with the tap of the finger.

Classroom music is also being taught to every student in the elementary schools with great success. In middle school non-performing music students in grades 6, 7 and 8 receive a semester of classroom music every other day. All grades have individual bands, orchestras and choruses. In addition, Select 8th grade choir and chamber orchestra are available and selected by an audition. Jazz Ensemble is also an auditioned ensemble that rehearses before school.
