Goshen Central School District is located at 227 Main Street Goshen, NY and it serves grades K-12 in Orange County. The Goshen Central School District is in the center of Orange County, New York, approximately 60 miles northwest of New York City. The district encompasses the entire Village of Goshen, plus portions of the Towns of Chester, Goshen, Hamptonburgh, Wallkill and Wawayanda.

Locally the area is historic and beautiful; the school district has a mix of business, light industry, rural and residential areas. The village of Goshen is the County Seat and home to the Goshen Historic Track and the Hall of Fame of the Trotter. The entire area is an interesting blend of stately old homes, contemporary buildings, garden apartments, farms, and industrial parks. Orange Regional, a 176-bed hospital, is located in Goshen.

There is access to a variety of cultural activities, as well as excellent recreational opportunities, either within or near Orange County. Nearby colleges include Orange County Community College, Mount Saint Mary College and the State University at New Paltz. Marist College offers extension courses in the Village of Goshen. The United States Military Academy at West Point is located within a half-hour of the Goshen area.

Eisenhower Hall and theaters in nearby Middletown and Sugar Loaf offer professional music, dance and theatrical productions throughout the year. Skiing, golf, tennis, swimming, boating and horseback riding are all nearby as are the Galleria Mall and the Woodbury Commons Shopping Village.
