Deer Park Schools

Deer Park Union Free School District has added several great new up grades to provide students with modern learning technologies. Recently, they added 130 new PCs and Mac Book computers, upgraded the memory in more than 200 existing computers across the entire district. The district has implemented a student information system which allows parents to keep track of everything they need to know about their child, from attendance to scheduling. Today’s Deer Park students are facing a future in which their ability to use technology as a tool will determine whether they will become active citizens of the global electronic community or victims of it. Computer technology has established itself as an increasingly pervasive force, which has now achieved greater concentrations in homes than in schools. School districts therefore have a responsibility to provide sufficient access to technology so that students have the opportunity to use it to support and enhance their learning activities.
