Taconic Hills Middle School is located at 73 County Route 11A Craryville, NY. This school serves the community of Craryville for its education needs for grades 5 through 8 in Columbia County, New York. Taconic Hills Middle School emphasize language arts instruction (reading, writing, speaking and listening skills), along with mathematics, science, social studies, computers, research training, art, music and physical education. Students may also participate in Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.). The Shared Decision Making Committee offers an additional opportunity for parents to become involved in the middle school. This committee is responsible for sponsoring a number of important initiatives at the school. The committee is seeking additional parent and community members to help continue and expand upon school improvements.
Progress reports are sent to the parents of all students after the first five weeks of school, and as needed, at the teacher's discretion, five weeks after each report card. In some cases, more frequent progress reports can be arranged. These reports are designed to alert parents and students about potential problems in particular subjects.
