Primary School number 312 Bergen Beach is located in a remote neighborhood of Brooklyn serving as Environmental Study Center where not only plants and animals receive care but also children attending grades PK, 0K, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and SE. P.S. 312 also receives workshops supported by the New York State Science Standards and being adjacent to a State-of-the-Art building counts with a simulated Amazon rain forest and a salt-water marsh.
The Bergen Beach School prepares students by means of a challenging currriculum and comprehensive programs that also include Reading Recovery Program, Early Literacy Program, Pre-Kindergarten Superstart PLUS, and extracurricular activities such as dance, chorus, band classes, drama and art clubs.
There are also afterschool activities ranging from tennis, volleyball and basketball, to Violence Prevention Program, and charitable events including Penny Harvest, Toys for Tots, and St. Jude's Math-A-Thon. This year the school celebrates its 40th year with many other activities.
