Canandaigua Middle School is located at 215 Granger Street Canandaigua, NY and provides education to grades 6-8 in Ontario County. The Middle School (grades 6-8) focuses on the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each student. Students at the Middle School are undergoing many physical and emotional changes as they mature. Therefore, while academic study is the center of all school programs, many special activities are planned with regard to the specific characteristics unique to the adolescent.
The comprehensive, flexible program meets the ever-changing needs of our students. The school's curriculum, scheduling and organization were redesigned in 2006 to stimulate a more engaging academic atmosphere and to reinvigorate the close relationship between students and adult staff members that is the school's hallmark.
The school wishes all students to be safe, engaging environment that values all members of the community and encourages them to pursue their full potential as life-long learners and respectful citizens.
The teachers make every effort to incorporate literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts. Parents with children attending this public School enjoy the fact the district have small classrooms, caring, dedicated teachers, and the desire of the school for parent involvement. Parents are welcome to visit anytime and even enjoy eating lunch with their child or help in the classroom.
