Altamont Elementary School officials believe that a positive and collaborative relationship between the school, parents and community is vital to children’s academic, social and emotional growth and well being. The educational programs should be designed to meet the present and future needs of all learners. All learners should have the skills necessary to feel comfortable using technology for personal, educational and vocational pursuits. Students will find excellent counseling services available for academic, peer, social problems, or any other student issues.
Responsible behavior by students, teachers, other district personnel, parents and other visitors is essential to achieving this goal. Altamont Elementary School has a long-standing set of expectations for conduct on school property and at school functions. These expectations are based on the principles of civility, mutual respect, citizenship, character, tolerance, honesty and integrity.
The staff and teachers work right along with parents to provide one of the best teaching experiences for pupils. There are several different cultures and religions attending Altamont Elementary School so it has a very diverse background of students. Teachers are very committed to teaching these young minds and prepare them for grade advancements while preserving the ethics and cultural environment every parent expects.
