Established by the early European explorers, Hudson Valley served as a major battleground in the colonial wars. Hudson Valley area has many different towns and villages which have a number of attractions for you to visit. You can experience the old colonial architecture and there are many galleries and museums to explore. The gothic mansion in Tarrytown and the Vanderbilt Mansion which overlooks the Hudson River are especially popular. While in these towns you can also visit some of the farmer’s markets where you can buy fresh produce. Hudson Valley is a beautiful region and is very easily accessible from the nearby cities. You may also board a cruise ship from New York City that provides a full weekend of sight-seeing in the area.
